Not a Winner, But Still a Dreamer

Just so you know, I won't be crossing any NaNo finish line today. Congratulations to all the writers out there in NaNo Land who have completed their goals. I will carry on with my story, with all my stories in their various stages of incompletion, but once again there is no finish line for me this year.

Maybe it just wasn't meant to be.

As for establishing a writing routine, well, that's been a work in progress. It's still a work in progress, but steadily improving.

As for my family respecting my writing/computer time ... they went way beyond expectations. DH especially ... by buying me my own laptop!

And it was woderful! For 4 days I played with it, tinkered with the settings, transferred my pictures and documents, yes even the latest Work In Progress. And typed away, sitting on the sofa, until ...

On the 4th day it would not boot. Nothing. Black Screen. (latest additions to WIP not backed up)

So I took it to the Geek Squad, who happily replaced it with a new one. Yay! That was so easy!

Too easy ... the new one lasted only 1 day. One measly afternoon and evening. Maybe it just wasn't meant to be.

And I'm back to square one. Back to using the Family Computer, which the boys have renamed the Peanut/Pumpkin Computer. No, it didn't take them long to get used to NOT SHARING. So I have to sneak in while they're still sleeping. Which was actually the original plan for establishing a writing routine ... get it in before everyone wakes up and the house explodes with all the noise and activity.

So back to where I started. An idea. A Plan. And an alarm clock.

So sorry about the laptops! Sounded like it would have made things so much easier! I have to fight to get time on the family computer too!
