That's right, the man himself, had very important movie-making to do less than ten miles from my home. And I, the busy mom, was just too busy to notice. Until he's gone, of course, and all the throngs of fans are chatting up the experience of waiting all day for him to make an appearance.

Too busy reading books and listening to my son read aloud. Too busy working out math problems and logic with the Pumpkin. To busy conducting writing practice and more reading and more writing and ... errands. Just busyness. And cherry pie.

The radar was down. I was totally clueless, until I read it in the newspaper. The local yokel newspaper whose deadline came too soon. So I may never know IF Mr. Depp made the promised appearance to wave at his adoring fans in the middle of the night. Until I hear it on the playground.

But I missed it. I guess I'll just have to wait for the movie.
